Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827)
Triple concerto in C major, op. 56
When chamber music and orchestra come together, a very special energy is created: in his ‘Triple Concerto’, Beethoven brings together a piano trio with a large orchestra. Experience the unique ‘vibes’ when the three soloists bounce musical ideas off each other! There is hardly any music more suited to this than that of Ludwig van Beethoven, which radiates cheerfulness and joie de vivre despite his progressive deafness – and is often used in music therapy. In this concert, the Kronberg Young Soloists – alumni and students – perform together with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe under Sir András Schiff.

Johannes Brahms (1833–1897)
Doppelkonzert a-Moll op. 102
While the war in their homeland continues, they are travelling as musical ambassadors for Ukraine: the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, conducted by Oksana Lyniv, has already given one enthusiastically received performance at the Casals Forum. They are returning to Kronberg for this year's festival, bringing Johannes Brahms' passionate Double Concerto to the stage with Ukrainian Academy alumni Dmytro Udovychenko and Aleksey Shadrin. Emotional warmth and empathy are hallmarks of Brahms' music – and it has been scientifically proven that his music noticeably reduces listeners' stress levels. Who wouldn't benefit from that?
Also featured: the musical ‘Seasons’, not by Vivaldi this time: colourful sounds for solo cello, flute and strings characterise the work ‘The Seasons’ by the young Ukrainian composer Mariia Khodakivska, born in 2003.

Johannes Brahms (1833–1897)
Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98
Anyone who has heard her live knows that Lisa Batiashvili is one of the most charismatic and profound violinists of our time. At the Casals Forum, she will be focusing on a little-known musical culture: that of her native Georgia. The miniatures for violin and strings by Georgian composer Sulkhan Tsintsadze are little musical gems whose lively folk music elements evoke positive emotions and strengthen the sense of community. In addition, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, conducted by Oksana Lyniv, will delight audiences with Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4 in E minor.

George Enescu (1881–1955)
Octet for Strings in C major, Op. 7 (Version for String Orchestra)
When music becomes tangible in the body, when it vibrates and resonates and strikes us right in the heart, that's when they're there: the ‘good vibrations’. Creating this feeling is the mission of the rousing Hamburg ensemble Resonanz – a collective that has been synonymous with very special concert programmes since 1994. At the Casals Forum, the ensemble revels in the emotional depth of George Enescu's string octet and plays around the charming dialogue between violin and viola in Mozart's Sinfonia concertante with soloists Hans Christian Aavik and Tabea Zimmermann.
In the concert introduction by renowned neuroscientist Prof. Stefan Kölsch, you will learn ‘what music does to you!’
