Wassili Wohlgemuth was born in Berlin in 2001 as the child of two musicians. At the age of five, he received his first violin lessons, and in 2008, he passed the entrance exam for a junior program at the Hanns Eisler School of Music under Johannes Kittel. Starting in 2013, he attended the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music Gymnasium in Berlin and transferred to the class of Prof. Stephan Picard in 2015. At the age of 16, he began his bachelor's studies at the Hanns Eisler School of Music under Ning Feng. Since 2021, Wassili has been studying under Prof. Carolin Widmann at the HMT Leipzig, and since 2019, he has been receiving additional instruction from Prof. German Tcakulov. 

Since 2018, Wassili has regularly participated in festivals such as the Zermatt Festival of the Berlin Philharmonic and attended masterclasses with musicians including Mihaela Martin, Saschko Gawriloff, and Igor Gruppman. Among his solo performances, he counts a concert with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic.

In 2022, Wassili won the first prize at the international competition "Musica Goritiensis" and the second prize at the Alberto Lysy International Violin Competition in Gstaad. As a chamber musician, he performed at the 68th Chamber Music Week at Schloss Elmau and is a member of the Elster Trio.

Since 2023, he has been studying at Kronberg Academy with Tabea Zimmermann. His studies are generously funded by the Strauss Family patronage.
