Dietmar Bär

Dietmar Bär, born in 1961, is a theater, film and television actor. He studied at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum. He is best known for his role as Cologne crime scene detective “Freddy Schenk”, for which he received the German Television Award in 2000. In 2012, he received the Golden Camera for Best Actor for “Kehrtwende” and the Bernhard Minetti Prize in 2017.
He is also well-known to audiobook fans, particularly as the regular voice for Håkan Nesser and Stieg Larsson.
In 2015, Dietmar Bär, together with Klaus J. Behrendt, received the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for their voluntary work in the association Tatort-Straßen der Welt e.V., which supports disadvantaged children. In 2022, he celebrated his 25th anniversary with the Cologne Tatort.
