At the Kronberg Festival 2026, “Courage!” is not only something to be heard – it also becomes the starting point for conversations, encounters and inspiring new perspectives. From 22 September to 4 October, the supporting programme complements the Festival with readings, workshops, talks, an exhibition and special behind-the-scenes insights.
What does courage mean on stage? How can mental strength be developed? What can music and literature tell us about finding the courage to follow our own path? And what responsibilities do artists carry beyond music itself?
The supporting programme explores these questions from a variety of perspectives. In “Lionheart – Tell Me About Courage”, actor Michael Rotschopf and cellist Oliver Herbert bring literature and music together. During the panel discussion “CASOURAGE”, Sir András Schiff, Paul Lendvai and others reflect on Pablo Casals and the meaning of civil courage. Workshops, talks and encounters also explore topics ranging from stage fright and improvisation to mental strength, instrument making and bow making.
Pablo Casals himself also takes centre stage: an exhibition at the Casals Forum marks the 150th anniversary of his birth and offers insights into the life and legacy of this extraordinary musician and human being.
