Discover the rich culture of cello playing: every two years in autumn, Kronberg becomes the “World capital of the cello” (Mstislav Rostropovich) when four renowned cellists gather to teach students from across the globe.
This year, two generations of teachers will be represented in Kronberg though Frans Helmerson, Gary Hoffman, Jens Peter Maintz and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. In public tuition sessions, they will convey different artistic and educational approaches to the many cello students taking part. And in each of the Master Concerts, the tutors will perform together with younger colleagues who were once their students, and who today are renowned cellists and teachers in their own right. Inspiration is guaranteed – and we, the audience, will be part of the action!
