Alongside his international recital activity, Jonathan Ware continues to develop distinctive artistic projects. A particularly important initiative is Kinderlieder, a concert series for young children curated by Lullula Music with its founder Lydia Mahnkopf and Simone Easthope. Following its successful debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal, the project evolves further through performances and educational activities in the 2026/27 season.
With Golda Schultz, Jonathan Ware has developed several distinctive recital projects. These include Dark Matter(s), presented at venues including Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Pierre Boulez Saal, Hugo Wolf Akademie Stuttgart, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Shriver Hall and New Orleans Opera, and their acclaimed programme This Be Her Verse, dedicated to female composers, brought to stages across Europe and North America.
This Be Her Verse was also recorded for Alpha Classics and praised for Jonathan Ware’s “especially fine form” (BBC Music Magazine) and “theatrical sensibility” (The New York Times). Among his most recent releases is Alto appassionato with violist Timothy Ridout, exploring the rich Romantic repertoire for viola and piano. Recordings with Ludwig Mittelhammer, Elsa Dreisig, Sharon Carty and Olivier Stankiewicz further reflect the breadth of his artistic collaborations.
Awards include the Pianist’s Prize at both Das Lied and Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song competitions, as well as First Prize with Ludwig Mittelhammer in the International Hugo Wolf Competition.
