Chamber Music Connects the World, Junior

The British violist Toby Cook studied from 2015 to 2019 at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Juan-Miguel Hernandez and subsequently continued his studies until 2022 at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin with Tabea Zimmermann. Since 2023, he has been studying at the Zurich University of the Arts with Lawrence Power.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, including winning the II. International Music Competition "Małopolska" 2022 and the Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition 2019. Additionally, he won the Tillett Trust Artist 2023, the Villa Musica Artist 2023, and the D'Addario String Prize 2022. He is a scholar of the Ottilie-Selbach-Redslob Foundation and the German Foundation of Musical Life.

Toby Cook has showcased his musical talent at prestigious venues and international festivals. From solo performances at the Berlin Philharmonie to collaborations with renowned musicians like Jennifer Stumm and Tabea Zimmermann, he captivates a wide audience. He has also gained extensive orchestral experience as Principal Violist in the Symphony Orchestra of the Hanns Eisler School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra.

Toby Cook has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians, including Nobuko Imai, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Ettore Causa, Sadao Harada, Kazuki Yamada, Suyeon Kim, Julien Szulman, Gregor Sigl, and Lawrence Power.
