BACH UND TRIOSONATEN
Measured against Telemann’s more than 1,000 trio sonatas, quartets, and similar compositions, Bach’s contribution to chamber music appears extremely modest. Taken together, everything he wrote for at least two musicians amounts to just 22 works — and these remain largely unfamiliar.
Master flautist Emmanuel Pahud has set out to remedy this. Together with distinguished musical partners, he will reveal both the bubbling joie de vivre and the meditative intimacy contained in Bach’s trio sonatas.
