From 16 to 22 November 2020, the Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann will be held in Berlin for the fifth time – in homage to the world’s best cellist of the 20th century.

Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann

Following the competitions held in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014, Kronberg Academy and Berlin University of the Arts are inviting young cellists from across the globe to Berlin for the fifth Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann.
The prestigious cello competition is a vibrant, forward-looking memorial to the exceptional cellist Emanuel Feuermann. Its aim is to help shine a spotlight on gifted young players and facilitate their future development. For the young competitors, it presents a challenge from which each of them can gain something: experience, self-awareness – and your attention! This is because the second round, semi-final and final are all public events held in Berlin’s Philharmonie and Haus des Rundfunks concert halls.

Patron: Daniel Barenboim
