Klassik meets Jazz - Rheingau Musik Festival

Eight fictional stories that could have happened this way form Iiro Rantala's program "Veneziana." These stories are full of compositional creativity, instrumental virtuosity, and, as is typical for Rantala, humor. The opening piece, "Gondola Ride to St. Mark’s Square," imagines a Swedish family visiting Venice for the first time, getting into a gondola while arguing about everyday family matters.
