Successful career of the residing abroad young Georgian cellist delights the music community. Academicism, the depth of musical intention, a certain maturity in comparison to his age, complements his creative portrait.

Giorgi Kharadze enrolled at the National Conservatory in Blois. From 1997 to 1999, he studied at the Conservatory of Orleans. At the age of fifteen, he became a student at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris.

Giorgi Kharadze has been the recipient of many awards, including: second place at the Jean Françaix International Competition; first place at the Domnick International Cello Competition in Germany in 2001; first place at the Georges Prêtre International Competition in Douai, France; third place and special mention at the Pablo Casals International Cello Competition in Germany; and the Langrave of Hesse Prize at the Kronberg Academy masterclasses in 2004. He was also recognized by the Italian “Concertante” Foundation in 2005. In 2005 he won third prize and a special prize at the Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris. In November 2006 he won first prize in the Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann in Berlin.

In 2008, in Bonn, Germany, he was awarded with the ring of Beethoven, as the best performer. In 2010 he was a finalist at the “Young Concert Artists Auditions” in New York.

Giorgi Kharadze, the laureate of numerous prestigious international competitions, performs concerts at venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Hague Theatre in Netherlands, the Czech Philharmonic in Prague, the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava, the Estonia Theatre in Tallinn, the Lithuanian Philharmonic in Vilnius, the Riga Philharmonic, the “Hôtel National des Invalides” in Paris and others. He has played with the Orchestra of the Republican Guard, the Frankfurt Sinfonietta and the Potsdam Kammerakademie. His upcoming performances include dates with the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, the KBS Symphony Orchestra and many more.

It should be noted the cooperation as young musician with luminaries such as Yuri Bashmet, Gidon Kremer, Menahem Pressler, and Roland Pidoux. For his first CD recording, he collaborated on a CD, published by the Kronberg Academy label, with the Kremerata Chamber Orchestra and with the support of Gidon Kremer.

Nowadays, Giorgi Kharadze is the leader of cellos’ group at the orchestra of Opera Bastille in Paris.
