French-American harpist Anne-Sophie Bertrand was born in Paris and studied with renowned teachers in London, Lyon and Brussels. Her artistic achievements have been rewarded with a great many prizes and accolades in international competitions for both classical and contemporary music, including in Cardiff, Brussels and London. She was awarded the title of Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in 2007.
Since 2000, Annie-Sophie Bertrand has been solo harpist with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony. In addition, she regularly performs as a guest with the Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and is also invited to international festivals as a highly-sought-after chamber musician. She has given solo concerts at major concert halls in London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, Caracas and Jerusalem, as well as at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Flanders Festival, Weilburger Schlosskonzerte and many more. Her solo recordings are played by major broadcasting companies.
Anne-Sophie Bertrand now gives regular masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music in London, has worked as a visiting professor in Brussels and is a tutor at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt.
