About Classic for Kids

  • Cycle: Three times a year
  • Venue: Kronberg
  • For: Children aged between 5 and 10
  • Sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland GmbH

Providing support and encouragement for highly gifted musicians - Kronberg Academy's mission - only really comes into its own if timely consideration is given to tomorrow's audiences and small children are taken seriously as concert-goers.

The concert series for children, Classic for Kids, which was launched by Kronberg Academy in 2005 together with Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland GmbH, sets out to introduce children aged between 5 and 10 to classical music. The aim is to give youngsters the opportunity to understand music as an art form and to help them to develop a love for it as well as to answer some of their many questions.

The young concert-goers are allowed to become acquainted with "grown-up" classical chamber music works specially selected and prepared for them. A playful approach helps them to understand the compositions.

Key parts are played by the music narrator Christoph Gotthardt alias MusE, his colourful, inquisitive earwig, Theophil ... and the children themselves, who are encouraged to take an active part in each concert.
